Acne Light Therapy

Wednesday 7 November 2007 @ 12:18 pm

Acne light therapy is a way of treating acne without going through all of the trouble of using messy creams or ingesting pill after pill of antibiotics that never seem to work. Acne light therapy is a quick-fix way to get rid of that terrible acne with minimal adverse side effects. How it works is that it targets the bacteria deep in your skin and pinpoints the locations where there is excessive amounts of bacteria festering and simply gets rid of them. One FDA-approved light therapy treatment is Omnilux. It is a very effective way of treating acne by way of light without dangerous radiation or ultraviolet rays. There are several options when going for Omnilux, red light therapy and omnilux plus. The red light therapy simply prevents cancerous growths on the skin forming and creates a whole new look to reduce the signs of aging. When going with the “plus” option, which combines light treatment with a special amino levulinic acid that helps to remove acne and revitalize the skin.

When you are looking seriously into getting light therapy to treat acne, it’s important to know what is involved. First, a gel is applied to the entire area of the face. Then a light is ran across the effected areas, covering every imperfection or spot, such as freckles. Each individual spot either absorbs or evaporates this light exposure. The light being ran across the areas of the face cause them to shrink, getting deep into the pores and causing bacteria to burn away, all the while causing the patient no pain whatsoever. This type of treatment for acne has had great results and ends with glowing, wonderful skin you can finally be proud of and show off to everyone.
